Partners in Crime. TTBB

words and music by Elizabeth Sidebotham

Me and my mate Fred, we’ve been mates a long time
We’ve had a lot of laughs and we’ve been partners in crime.
While Fred was doing “porridge”, (he robbed a milkman down in Torridge),
I was in Columbia, living in style.
Ah, me and my mate, villains reunited, just you wait
Ah, me and “F” “H” we’ll get together one day.
Me and Fred Harris, we booked a flight to Paris and we’d never flown in a plane before.
So for our nerves we took a whisky, but dear Fred got rather frisky
So they strapped him to a parachute and dropped him in the Seine
Ah, me and my mate. What a way to travel, just you wait, cor blimey!
Ah me and ‘F’ “H” we’ll get together one day.
We were creeping down an alley in the dead of night
Fred got caught red-handed, and “banged to rights”.
In the ensuing palaver Fred lost his balaclava,
Whereas I had cut two eye-slits in an old pair of tights
I went creeping down the alley in the dead of the night
Keeping to the shadows, out of sight
A dark, amorphous shape heading for the great escape
with pockets full of “bling” and leaving Fred to his plight.
Me and Fred Harris we’ve been mates a long time
We’ve had a lot of laughs and we’ve been partners in crime.
But Fred’s no more a man of leisure,
He’s being held at “Her Majesty’s Pleasure”
And he keeps in touch on “Facebook” when he’s allowed the time.
Ah me and my mate, Ah we’ll get together, just you wait
Ah me and ‘F’ “H” we’ll get together one day. Cor Blimey
Ah me and my mate, Ah we’ll get together some day
Ah me and “F” “H” we’ll get together one day.
