Choirs are attracting a lot of interest these days more and more people find that singing is enjoyable, uplifting and fun. We sing conventional choir music - !! plus a whole lot more!!.
Having recently appointed Jonathan Delbridge: a Young, Dynamic, Musical Director, the RAME PENINSULA MV CHOIR, based in Kingsand, is keen to attract new singers, both to maintain the strong Cornish tradition of choral singing and to improve our standards, to become the “Best in the West”
So why don’t you think about taking up choral singing as a hobby and join us on this exciting journey?
We entertain at events all over the Country and abroad. We visited Germany in May 2011 singing at at Bremen, Rotenburg Vumme and Buxtehude. We plan to visit the Channel Islands in September 2012
You may feel that you haven’t got much of a voice, but it’s amazing what a bit of practice can do to those rusty vocal cords. You don’t need to be able to read music (most of us can’t) or even be Cornish, as Passports aren’t necessary! All that you need is a reasonable ability to pitch a note and a commitment to regular attendance for practices and Concerts. You’ll join a great bunch of guys and quickly make new friends - we’re truly a “Band of Brothers”
The choir has an eclectic repertoire, ranging from Beach Boys to Bach and is also pretty unique in having a talented folk/shanty Group “HALFWAY HARMONY” within its ranks, who perform a completely different repertoire, in their own right. So by joining us at RAME it’s a case of -“buy one, get one free!!”

Any gentlemen who enjoy singing - or a sing song are invited, without obligation, to come and observe .(bring the other half) You will (both) be given refreshments and made very welcome....
The Choir practices in Kingsand Community Centre at 7.30 prompt on Wednesdays.
Note: We often continue "practicing" in a local hostelry on completion
We also have a very strong LADY SUPPORTERS COMMITTEEE who do sterling work on our behalf. They also have "Ladies Only" fun events (when us men are advised to keep clear). We are deeply indebted to them for all they do. |
