The Trelawny Male Choir has been formed to carry out a tour to Singapore and New Zealand in the autumn of 2007 to promote Cornish music and singing. The Musical Director is Elaine Tangye and the Accompanists/Guest Artists are Elizabeth Sidebotham (piano) and Philip Taylor (organ). It was decided to name the choir after the county's national song, "Trelawny". It's 88 members have been brought together from male voice choirs throughout the county of Cornwall and some members also sang with the Kernow Choir which toured Australia in May 2003. The Trelawny Male Choir tour concerts took place in the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore, and then in New Zealand at the following locations; Christchurch, Nelson, Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland, and Whangerei, each concert raising money for local charities. The choir perform a wide range of music including sacred, secular, classical, Cornish and popular pieces. The choir have produced a CD to take with them and was honoured to be invited to perform at the Gala Concert at the Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival.
